Re: Leki Teton (Super Makalu) AERGON AS Trekking Pole
I should have returned these Leki poles the day I got them. The locking device is total crap. I found out early on that it was a lot of work getting them to lock. So I after I finally locked them in - I left them locked to avoid the hassle. Just the other day I noticed one was shorter than the other so I unlocked, adjusted the height, and went through the pain of locking again. But all my effort to lock the pole back in place availed me no success. I noticed the little orange plastic piece that ride up and down on the screw to activate the expander was stripped out. I contacted Leki support and received an email instructing me on how to fix the problem. That was pure corn. There is no way to fix that stripped out part and it cannot be replaced.
Bottom line - stay away from Leki. Looks like they are steadily outsourcing their manufacturing to Red China, which will only turn out a crappier product.
Thank you.
