There once was a girl from Purdue
Not far from the Tippecanoe
In search of her Wow!
She followed a cow
Back home to a farmer named Stu.

One Horse Pony (informal free verse with rhyme)
I'm a one horse pony my name is Joe
God surely loves me because he knows I'm slow
My wife's a "Doctor" but she don't know
Can anyone show me which way to go
Joe! the swamp you seek is just ahead
We all know you're not much well read
Why don't you go on back to bed
And rest your weary head

"Sweet Dreams" a double quintain poem written in monorhyme stanzas.
Had lots of dreams, ne'er a one sweet
Dreamt a fine gal, went out to eat
Opened her mouth, she had no teeth
On to the next one, kinda neat
Walked on the moon, a major feat
Just some dreams I am here to tout
But "sweet" ain't what they's all about
A little weird they are no doubt
When doors lead in but take me out
To lands of strange where sleep does scout.

"Looking for Love"
Same old tired faces
Looking for love in all the wrong places
Where hopeful hearts meet empty spaces
AND nary a day goes by -
In this sea of sanguine fishes
In spite of all their best wishes
Hope serves up only meager dishes
And that gives pause for sigh.

And with the whole of my spirit
Resolved! I refuse to fear it
Ever aware that I may fail
On my steam and grit yet I sail.
